Claire Appleton, Reconnections Head of Service starts by updating on Calvert Reconnections, and the serious impact a delay can have on both Case Managers and their clients in terms of access to time-critical, post-acute clinical rehab.
Bill Braithwaite QC goes on to share his personal experience of interim payments and the challenges for a claimant or a Case Manager to secure the payment in order to avoid delays to the next stage of essential rehab.
Sue Reeve, Complex Bodily Injury Claims Lead at Aviva outlines her perspective as an insurer and recipient of interim Payment requests. She challenges Case Managers to make a persuasive “case” for an interim payment, making it easy for the insurer to agree.
And finally, Heather Batey, Neuro OT and MD of REACH, invites the audience to share their own experience as well as asking questions of the panel.
This is followed by a final encouragement from Bill Braithwaite QC to make a robust case for an interim payment to ensure that essential clinical rehab is not held up by lack of funds.
