Brain injury professionals are continuing to endorse Calvert Reconnections’ ground-breaking approach to ABI rehabilitation.

The Keswick-based rehab service hosted its latest experience day last week, with professionals from Sintons, Sherwood Therapy Services, Westmorland and Furness Council and RSA Insurance visiting the centre to gain an insight into how Reconnections is achieving life-changing outcomes for participants.  The group also met with Reconnections’ clinical team of Neuro Occupational Therapists, Neuro Physiotherapists, Neuro Speech and Language Therapists, Neuro Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners and Rehabilitation Coaches.

Solicitors from the neurotrauma team at Sintons enjoyed hearing about Reconnections’ clinically-led approach to ABI rehabilitation, which combines cognitive and physical rehab with vocational and outdoor activities.

Ellie Marriott, Solicitor in the Neurotrauma team at Sintons said: “It was great to hear about how Calvert Reconnections is combining the outdoors with neurorehabilitation and achieving life-changing outcomes.”

Nadia Hussain, Solicitor in the Neurotrauma team at Sintons said: “What a wonderful day at Calvert Reconnections in the Lake District. The facilities are amazing and so are the clinicians.”

Commenting on the day, Claire Appleton, Head of Service at Calvert Reconnections said: “Calvert Reconnections was a new venture for the Lake District Calvert Trust back in 2020 but we have worked tirelessly over the last four years to be recognised as a leading, specialist clinically-led ABI rehab unit.   Our experience days provide a flavour of how our clinically led, goal-driven approach to ABI rehabilitation is delivering life-changing outcomes. It was a real pleasure to welcome everyone to the centre.”

Calvert Reconnections’ next experience day is on 27 September 2024. Reconnections can also arrange bespoke visits for brain injury solicitors, case managers, insurers, NHS professionals and anyone with a wider interest in ABI rehabilitation.
