Claire Appleton, Head of Service at Calvert Reconnections, proudly attended the Buckingham Palace Garden Party this week.

The prestigious event was hosted by the Prince of Wales, with guests enjoying tea and cake in the beautiful gardens of the Palace.

Prince William was joined by his cousins, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Peter Philips, Zara Tindall and her husband, Mike Tindall at the Garden Party.

Over the course of each year, specially invited guests are invited to spend a relaxed summer afternoon in the beautiful gardens of Buckingham Palace or the Palace of Holyroodhouse. The events have evolved into a way of recognising and rewarding public service.

As Head of Service at Calvert Reconnections, Claire and her team are delivering a range of outstanding, life-changing outcomes for ABI survivors. The centre’s unique approach combines cognitive and physical rehabilitation with vocational and outdoor activities delivered within a unique non-clinical environment.

Commenting on the day, Claire said: “I was really proud to represent Calvert Reconnections and the wider Lake District Calvert Trust at the Garden Party. To be invited to such a prestigious event shows how far our groundbreaking ABI rehabilitation service has come. It was a truly special day.”
